Cenotes feel magical and when seeing them for the first time, I was blown away by how beautiful they are. In the featured video, you will learn about a hidden gem I know to be the best set of cenotes in the Riviera Maya Mexico. Its an experience I highly recommend.
Cenotes were sacred to the Mayans and they still have a sacred feeling to them to the day. The water is pure, the colors are otherworldly and the waters feel naturally healing to my body. My skin and hair even felt amazing after being in the water because of all the rich minerals!
The Yucatan Peninsula has 2 of the largest underwater systems in the world and many cenotes can be found in this area, some more popular than others. The ones I went to visit were quiet and my group of 4 were the only ones there all day. Visiting cenotes without hundreds of other people lets you really feel the serenity of the place.
It was amazing to be the only ones at the cenote all day and it felt peaceful and serene.
Out of the many things to do in Riviera Maya and Yucatan Peninsula, a trip to cenotes needs to be at the top of your list. Whether you are in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum or anywhere in between, you can find nearby cenotes and tours to take you there. The cenotes in the featured video are in my opinion, the best!
In this video, I share some “secret cenotes” that are less known and not visited by many.
Can you visit? YES. It is open to the public too, its just not heavily advertised and it remains somewhat “private” meaning in some ways, only those that are told about it or invited typically visit. By reading this… you are invited and in the know!
How to visit:
The name of the cenotes are Aldea Tierra Nueva Cielo Nuevo.” You can arrange a taxi ride there or if you have a car, you can drive. Here is the info on Google Maps. (Click here)
At the entrance, you pay a fee to get in. Somewhere around 25 dollars per person. (That may change depending on currency conversion from pesos to dollars). Then you get to experience everything I show in the video including a ride to the cenotes from the entrance and you can see all the cenotes on the property for the day.

Yes, please! We have visited several through the years, and love to go off the beaten path.
