Southern deserts are to die for! People rave about the beignets so, I had to try them at the famous Cafe Du Monde. Everyone says Cafe Du Monde is the BEST place for beignets. Being the night owl that I am, and too excited to sleep, I made a trip at 1am in the morning not too far from French Quarter. They were just as delicious as everyone claimed them to be, especially with the cafe au lait!

What Is A Beignet?
I would describe beignets close to a donut except it is meant to be eaten warm, freshly made, and they are more airy and lighter than donuts. They are served with powdered sugar sprinkled on top.
Make sure to order a hot cup of Cafe Du Monde’s coffee which pairs so well with the beignets. Cafe Du Monde’s coffee is New Orleans style with a slight hint of chicory… After my last bite, I had a feeling I would be back there soon!
